You have to see this one
I don't think I've ever seen a more beautiful firearm of any persuasion. Pretty much flawless.

I just can't imagine that they could have looked better when they were brand new.

Bill,
I have known Dick for a long time. I seriously doubt anything has been done to the gun. He was one of the first really serious collectors that I met early on and his knowledge and collection are top notch. I may be wrong but I don't think he would post anything that wasn't proper. It will be interesting to see how the vultures on Jan's forum will circle. Best regards my friend, Ron

I'm pretty sure that Richard's beautiful 1016 Navy 2nd Issue (a rare variation, by the way), is all original. The magazine shown is from an earlier gun.

Yes, it's very close to perfection.

How is it possible to survive in such condition for so many years? Only few scratches.
Just imagine all the things that happen in last 100 years. Mind boggling indeed. |

John, this is true! Lots of members belong to both; each forum has its own "flavor", and both have lots to offer. It's handy to have both memberships in times of cross-posting like this, so just join up!

Probably never used in battle like many Swiss lugers still in mint conditions.

I somehow don't think that this beautiful Navy is a shooter!! I have never seen a nicer example than this one. I couldn't even guess the value of this example.

Is the axle retaining pin in the white or blued? I can't tell for sure.

It is in the white, it even has the little "nub" in the center of the pin. It is as original as you can get.

It may be that some of our more long term experienced Navy collectors had some questions about Richard C.'s magnificent Navy because he calls himself a "Junior member" which carries a "newbie" sort of experience which Ron Wood says is not the case. Maybe the moniker of "former junior member" might be more appropriate!

There is nothing inexperienced about Richard. He does not call himself "Junior member"...that is a title bestowed by the forum software based on number of posts. If I live long enough and post enough times I may eventually earn the title of "grumpy old fart" (or perhaps I already have).
