Looking for the owner of Borchardt s/n 1821 & Borchardt mag 1722
Looking for the owner of Borchardt number 1821. Purchased at the RIA auction in December 2013. Sold with that pistol was mag number 1722. I currently own pistol 1722.

Boy... I can only imagine the frustration!
Is there any way the auction company can forward a message to the buyer? |

Yes, very frustrating. I keep hoping somebody on this board or the Still board will see the post and say "hey, I know who bought that pistol". But no luck so far. I have contacted RIA to inquire but no reply as of yet.
Thanks David |

#1722 is currently consigned to pre98.com for sale, right? I saw it listed there.
Since you're selling this one, why still care that magazine? Maybe without matching magazine but at current price level, it's easier to sell... you never know. |

Yes everything you say is true. I consigned the pistol to Scotty at pre98.com. It is just a little early for my collection even though it's a beautiful Borchardt. Best one I've ever seen. My collection is all US & German WWI & WWII.
Scotty has always treated me well on consignments. He lives about 1/2 mile from me which is like a drunk living next to the best bar in town. As for the mag, it's out there and I'd still like to reunite pistol and mag. David |

Probably need to consign it to an auction house. Most people's buying is somehow related with seller, even if it's the same item. For individual selling, it's not easy to sell an item value over $5k,,, there are exceptions, $6k, $7k, $8k,,,, definitely possible, but uncommon. For C&R dealer selling, probably not easy to sell an item value over $20k... this Borchardt is listed at the edge, it may be OK. But need time. If goes to auction houses,,, then $20K is nothing, there are many items selling at that level, people are used to that and in their mind they feel that's very normal.. that's the reason even those big name collectors sending their items to auction houses.
