Auction report
Went to a local auction house to check out two Lugers they had advertised. One was a 1900 AE that was in overall 65-70% but was mismatched. The barrel and toggle were different numbers than the frame. I ran it up to $625 and was thinking I was crazy to go that high! I did want a 1900 shooter though. Anyway the real gem was the 1917 DWM Artillery in 95%+ all matching with a matching stock, but non matching mag. Unfortunately the holster was junk, but I think that the straps might be salvageable as well as some other parts. I paid $1600, which I think is a good price for this partial rig. The holster appears to be pig skin (pebbled finish). Thatâ??s all for now.

Re: Auction report
Doug,
The gun and stock look great. The serial number on the extraculator looks funny. DO NOT RESTORE OR RESTRAW!! Your artillery is what I call a good honest Luger. How does the bore look? Now the fun begins in trying to find the original mag so that you can have a matching rig. The leather is extra good value. Good luck. Is the mag an original? What is the serial number? Maybe it matches one of my Lugers. Don't use the mag if it does not match. it might be a valuable match to someone else. You got a good deal. Big Norm |

Re: Holster?
Doug, Do you have a photo of the holster? The pebble finish is generally not pigskin but a pressed on surface finish. Is the configuration of the holster like a military or civilian commercial? Big Norm is right in what he says...You got a smoking deal. Nice Pistol! Jerry Burney
