Bob,
Why is this not a Navy K date? Are there is a any legitimate Navy K dates? |

I looked at this Luger on GB. Very little wear to the side plate, rails, or the muzzle band. It still looks good. I would also like t o know why it is labeled a "fake"?

The highest recorded Navy K Date is in the 2400, no suffix, range.Take a look at this one.
All recorded Navy K date lugers are 0 37 proofed. What is the proof on this one? There are other things also wrong with this K date. Yes,there are legitimate Navy Lugers, but not many. Bob Young Specializing in collecting K Date Lugers for 20 years. [email protected] |

I am certainly not an expert on K-dates, but let me ask if anyone else thinks that the "K" looks like other K-date Lugers or is a departure from the normal stamping.
Something just doesn't look right to me about it... it appears to be off-center of the top of the chamber, and crudely stamped compared to those K stamps I have seen previously... Could this receiver have been carefully ground off and the K added? or am I imagining things... Inquiring minds want to know.

I find that every single one of the stampings show evidence of some buffing and blueing AFTER the stamps were applied. Note especially the sideplate.
