Default Issue with LugerMan.com

All,

Just wanted to make everyone aware to question doing business with Yevgeniy Golubtsov AKA LugerMan
On 9/13 I inquired about the availability of a Luger toggle pin.
He quickly replied that the item was in stock and asked me to send a $50 pay-pal payment to him. (Unfortunately I did)
After sending payment I heard noting from him for several days so I reached out via email and heard nothing.
I have called him several times and left voicemails and still no answer.
I wish I would have seen the negative reviews on him before I reached out to him.
I would love a refund but given my experience am doubtful it will happen.

At the moment as far as I am concerned he is a thief! If he refunds the money I will change my judgment.

Tom Heller on the other hand is a class act and I can't recommend him enough! Fast service, great communication, and low prices. He even sends you the items you've purchased.

-Miles

just asking, but 9/13 this month?

that may be slow, but you're calling him a thief for 2 weeks - yes he can be slow, yes he won't always answer.

you used Paypal, did you request your money back? did you claim from paypal?

Be careful in making such libelous claims.

Eugene may be slow, aggravating, and a poor business man- but not a thief.

Miles,

There is no shipping address to use.
PayPal account you used is not verified and no address was provided.

I discovered that today as i was preparing small shipments.

Easy fix in my book...
All i need is an address.

My words were not said in anger, I waited well over a week to hear ANYTHING from Yevgeniy.

He has had the address the entire time, poor excuse in my book.
It's sad that it took me posting in a public forum to get a reply.
I requested a refund through pay-pal the day I read the numerous complains about LugerMan.com

Yevgeniy,
I will ask again, please issue me a refund.

Ok ...

I see an address it was in the note text of the payment.
I can send a refund tomorrow or I can send a part out today.

Your call.

Personally, running a small business I find that lightning fast E communication is essential. It's one of the first things I do every morning. Have a cup of coffee and I check my email. I check messages on all Forums. Anywhere I might get a message, I try to find it and respond. Customers appreciate it..and I stay on top of any difficulties. It's actually one of the easiest things I have to do but one of the most important. I have found NO ONE likes to be ignored. We all want to feel like we are a first concern..I know I do when dealing with people so it's natural others don't like being left dangling either. It's something that can get a small businessman in real trouble if it is not paid attention to as we see from this thread. I hope all's well that ends well..

Miles- Wow! A whole week went by. You do know there is no protection for the seller if he ships to an address that is not "confirmed" by PayPal.

Shame on you Eugene; you should know better in this world of instant and easy communication and given the need for instant gratification of many.

JMHO.

DonVoigt,

I don't want to get into some sort of flame war here, but I believe you may be missing my point. All I wanted was some form of contact within two weeks, I did not expect my item by now. I personally don't think thats asking for too much. (We are both entitled to our own expectations)

To me posting this tread and emailing it to Yevgeniy was the only way I was going to see any action from him.
This thought was based on the MANY other threads I have read about Yevgeniyon on several different forums.
When (if) I receive a refund I will add that information to my first post.
Again, I tried for two weeks to contact him every way I could, to no avail.

I am sorry if my post (or wording) upset you or any other members.

Best,
-Miles

Miles,
I understand your concern, and sympathize.
However, publically and in "print" calling a man a thief and saying your were "ripped" off is pretty over the top for a transaction only 2 wks old.

The threads I have read about Eugene, centered around slow delivery and poor communication- I don't recall anyone who was not made whole in the final analysis.

Perhaps just an over-reaction to one man's poor business acumen?

Seems all is well now, I surely hope so- some 50 or more of us have some part of $5k each in Eugene's hands and are waiting for delivery of "our" .45 luger clones.

Here is one of the posts I was looking at:

http://luger.gunboards.com/showthrea...ger-Man/page4&

Quite a few people here called him a thief but I will have to assume his reputation has changed among members.

Either way I personally would not trust any of my money with LugerMan.

Again sorry to offend anyone here.

True. I/we all know of one member here who waited over three years for his purchase to be delivered.

I guess that will be the benchmark for any of Eugene's projects from now on.

I wonder if Eugene's Winter retreat/beach property in Florida was damaged by the numerous hurricanes/trop storms this Summer???

I don't have a dog in this fight, but have had a couple of transactions "go south" due to poor communications - both as buyer and seller.

If you're running a business, or doing business on the Internet, I expect a reply email no later than 24 hours (business days, of course) after I send one. There are plenty of Fortune 500 companies that put up an expensive website, and then proceed to ignore them, their emails and/or inquiry forms. A huge pet peeve.

Prompt communication is essential to establishing good relationships all around. I expect it from my vendors and I'll usually go somewhere else if I don't get it.

Thanks for some sympathy from members.

Been a small shop,
with 4000K plus clients over the years, it gets really busy some days.

With 4 or 5 inpatient posts on the web, by my math we are not that bad. I realize that is not a good excuse for those affected.

I gotten better with responding back overt the years,
but a 45 Luger project did not help that situation in a bit.
And that has been a 3 year quest ( will be on February of next year)

And this year has been especially busy in trying to get the 45 Luger function they way we like ...
On every pull of the trigger with almost every ammo .
We all know original lugers do not do that all the time ...

it was tiring, frustrating, scary at times, and very expensive.

I apologize if in all of that mist of emotions I have missed an email or two.

We try to do right thing every time, with priorities been on the job done right.

Communication is not on top of the list... and we make an effort to fix it.
May be a good secretary can fix that one day.

By the way communication related:

Luger 45 prototype #4 has been in Guns and Ammo hands for a week now. Awaiting verdict patiently.

Miles, I'm also glad you changed your post title. Dealing with a vendor that is not communicating can be very frustrating.

Over several years, there have been posts that complain about slow delivery and lack of communication with Eugene. Frustration, anxiety and any number of emotions have been expressed.

Yet, for those willing to endure the isolated wait, Eugene has delivered on some remarkable projects. Something tells me that Eugene's nature will not change, and neither will his engineering and technical skill or attention to detail.

When I worked in computer technology, we had a number of brilliant engineers that had very poor, even defective communications skills. We learned not to try and change them, but to express very clearly what our expectations were and manage to those objectives. At that point, we let these engineers recede into their isolated engineering bliss. Most of the time they delivered, eventually.

This kind of misunderstanding could be made less dramatic and emotional if both parties (buyer and seller) clearly communicated expectations before money exchanged hands. When advertising sales and services it will go a long way to set expectations.

For example, before accepting money indicate a realistic estimate for shipment / delivery and stick to it. If you think it will take 2 months to get a part out, give an estimate of 3 months and ship it early. If you can't predict it, say so before accepting money. When I wasn't sure of completing a project I sometimes quoted a 100% contingent time buffer if I thought the job could be completed. The impossible took longer.

if you need a part or service, and are not willing to wait, tell the seller up front what your expectation is. If they won't commit to meet your need, move on to another seller.

This hobby is not a normal "Ebay" type marketplace. Some of the things we collect are literally made of "unobtainum", and fabrication from scratch takes time. Eugene, you don't have to always accept orders because you will lose them to the competition. There is little competition to speak of... It's something of an oligopoly.

Marc

Lighten up Don, Rich is joking. I for one enjoy the smell of humor in the morning. Besides, I never knew Porta-Potties were 4' square, they always seem smaller.
