Default Hermann-Historica fall 2018

I have been following the German Hermann-Historica auctions the last week.

At least in Europe, the great 'EU Firearms Directive Scare' seems to be over. as well as the economic crisis...

Prices went off the chart on even the worst guns. Record prices for several not-too-common, but also not-too-rare guns. Hammer price on a Dutch Vickers Luger: 16,000. That's well over 20k with tax/premium.

A nice German South-African marked Erfurt also went for 16k.

On many occasions the hammer prices doubled or tripled the opening price.

It was strange to see that 'shooter grade' reblues had no problems crossing the 1,000 Euro mark. Seems there are a lot of buyers who are in the market for 'pretty guns'. On the other hand, a nice Borchardt with stock, priced at 13,000 did not sell (yet).

Normal Mauser P38's also crossed the 1,000 mark with ease.
2 snail drum loaders in so-so condition brought about 1,000 each. Drums themselves about 2,000 on average.

The value of my gun collection tripled this week, according to the auction results I've seen.

Gerben, I hope you picked me up some rare or not so rare luger manuals?

And Simson or two? They made a very interesting 1925 automobile....

There was a reblued Simson that did well despite it's condition.
Joop's book did well also.

I only buy cheap and weird things
