Default WWI German Navy Luger mag pouch

A question for the forum members. I’m reading the Gortz and Sturgess red book on Lugers and just looked at the section on WWI German Navy Luger mag pouches.

The book says all had a rear loop 88 mm long vs the Portuguese version that has a 110 mm loop.

I’ve heard, though, that this is not always the case and the 110 mm loop was used by the German Navy as well.

Can I get some guidance here?

David,
I would guess that someone with a Portuguese pouch that wanted to sell it as "used by the
German Navy" would have been the situation for what you heard.

As far as anyone can know it is a Portuguese pouch.
