Odd marking
Hi all,
Have saw this Death Head on the auction sites several times! Somehow I never noticed the odd marking pictured below! It appears to be a "lazy" crown/gothic letter, in front of the normal vertical crown/gothic letters, Has a marking like this ever been found on the right side of a military Luger before? This question might just show my ignorance (yet again) but I am curious, have "Lazy" markings been reported on the right sides of military Lugers before this? Regards, Brandon |

Brandon, Sound like you have a "Monday Morning Luger" inspected after the Octoberfest weekend. Tom H.

Tom,
After a book scan I found on Pg. 150 of "Imperial Lugers" a Death Head with the same marking, located on the right middle toggle link, breech block and bottom of barrel... Anyone care to speculate on why these "lazy" commercial C/N marks would appear on two Death Head Lugers? Brandon... <img src="graemlins/yltype.gif" border="0" alt="[typing]" /> |
