Phoenix,
The pictures look very nice. Since the Gesichert is not in white, I'm assumming it's been reblued. Any history on it? |

Yes, it has been arsenal reblued. It has all matching numbers (yet the last two digits have been etched on the outside of the side plate even though it has the original number inside). The condition is superb otherwise.

I guess the guy restoring it didn't know that on Krieghoff's they didn't stamp the outside of the sideplate with the serial number. When I was at Simpson's about six months ago, they had 1944 Krieghoff that had the last two digits of the serial number on the outside.

I have seen this practice on other arsenal-refinished Krieghoff Lugers. I assume the armourers knew that last two digits of the serial number were on the inside of the side panel but preferred to have it etched on the exterior as well.
