Pete -- Nice work! Can you give us a few words on how you did it?

P.S. The engraved guns usually don't do much for me, but that one is a true beauty.

I sure would like to know how you did it too. I am feeling pretty stupid with my lack of knowledge about how to use this forum more effectively.

I will try and help out with some picture scenarios:

1st go to the Old Forum, upload your pictures, I chose to upload 3 small ones of my 6 inch Tom did for me. Write down the http address the old forum upload link gives you.

At the area you want to post a picture, click on the Icon called Image and it will pop up a small box, drop the entire item you copied into it, between the words [img} http://blah.blah.com [IMG] Add a return (enter) after the 1st image you have placed and then the next and the next set after you copy it from the old forum.

or like this with two returns

make sure that you don't have two sets of http://

and lets see what this did?

If you see it is screwed up, go to the EDIT and change what you did, or delete it.

On the other hand, if you have a server you can drop your pictures on, then you can do this:

http://users.palouse.com/ttinker/Lug.../Gesichert.jpg

and it makes a link for you to see my 1940! Cool huh?

Talking

This is what it looks like if I didn't take the returns out and have a mistake in the last posting. If these were LARGE pictures, then they would screw up the posting, because the server tries to compensate. My 3rd picture should have that last [I MG] letters together [IMG], but it isn't, so you see the mistake and not the picture. The server can not find the picture to display it because it just thinks there are words there and not a picture?

[IMG]http://boards.rennlist.com/upload/12March01small.jpg[/I MG] <img src="graemlins/crying.gif" border="0" alt="[crying]" />

While the correct placement of letters does this:
much better ey?

I wonder if Macs have more trouble with these type of things?

Hello Jerry,

Since you liked that engraved HK, thought I would dig up a few other photos I had in my library...

<img src="graemlins/crying.gif" border="0" alt="[crying]" /> Much rather have the gun than just nice photos, though... <img src="graemlins/crying.gif" border="0" alt="[crying]" />

Thumbs up

Pete, Do you have any indication who the engraver was?

Hello Jay,

Sorry, no; I do not know who or where the engraving was done.

This luger's engraving and carved grips do look alot like some of the samples in R. Gibson's "The Krieghoff Parabellum" on pages 199 thru 213...

Maybe our Forum's leader, John Dunkle, might add his comments... <img src="graemlins/yltype.gif" border="0" alt="[typing]" />
