I have a question for owners of these cool Kriegs! Does anyone have a Krieg that has a fire blued magazine release button like this S date?(best viewed from the right side of the Luger) Thanks!

Ted,
My 1936 (4 digit) Kreighoff has a very similar release button. There appears to be a hint of strawing around the edge, but it is prinarily a deep luster blue. Don't know if it's supposed to be that way or not. <img src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" /> |

The vast majority are a blue/purple (heat treated). I think there are a few that are documented as "strawed" according to Gibson (? - I think that is the reference - but I don't have his book at the office - so I'll look later..)..
