Post Chantilly Score

All,

For *entirely too much money* a 1916 Jon Huber Type II 6" Navy with Bavarian I Corps proofs on the body and flap. Deep brown and extremely thick leather. Going to Jerry Burney for some corrections, but a great and very hard to find piece.

I was at the show, haven't seen that many Lugers for sale ever before. From nice $500 shooters to way out of price league.

Jerry, It just occured to me that now you are in AZ. And closer to me. I can send you a holster last week, and you should have it back to me yesterday. Damn! This could work out.

I am new to Lugers, and have been lurking here to gather infomation, but at the Chantilly, Virginia show this weekend, the table displayers with Lugers were some of the most informative, patient people I have met in years of firearms collecting. They recommended readings, offered collecting philosophy, tips, and helped me make my first Luger purchase, and were more than willing to point out others who might have what I was after. It reminded me of shows from 15 years ago when purveyors of fine collectible firearms outnumbered modern vendors and non-gun items.

After a day of looking and hoping to find something less expensive to catch my eye, I succumbed to the fates and purchased a very nice Swiss Waffenfabrik Bern Luger 06/24 that called a siren song to be part of my Swiss military and military competition rifle collection.

Thanks if you were there.

Let me add my welcome to the Lugerforum Bill, from a fellow Virginian... See my note to Dan44 just a couple of lines above and take appropriate action
