US Test Holster Orientation...?
I thought I understood the "proper wear" of the 1000 US Test Holsters, made by the Rock Island Arsenal, to be worn on the right side, with the pistol butt facing back (or if switched to the left side, it would have the pistol butt facing forward).
But in C. Kenyon's book "Luger - The Multinational Pistol" on page 25, is shown a very good conditioned US Test hoslter that seems to be worn on the right side with the pistol butt facing forward (or if switched to the left side, it would have the pistol butt facing rearwards). Is this a left-handed version shown in the Kenyon book ? If so, is it "real"...? If so, how many left handed versions are there...? Geeze...I get dizzy just writing this thread... Maybe Wild Bill Cody wanted to wear two US Test Eagles and cross-draw them both...? Regards, Pete... <img border="0" alt="[typing]" title="" src="graemlins/yltype.gif" /> |

Pete, Kenyon's book is correct. Most originals were made Calvery style, with the butt forward when worn on the right side. TH
