Center Holster was picked up at a Hoopsten, Illinois show for $7.50 way back in 1965 when stationed at Chanute AFB, Il. It has a neat finish much like that of a womens fine dress shoe. I have always thought that it was finished for the Afrika Korp since it is same color as the Desert Tan. Had Jerry look at it last year. The Brown and Black Holsters I got years ago from Ralph Shatuck. He had several boxes of different marked Luger Holsters and I purchased those two from him for much more than $7.50.

Bob, Very Nice! Yes, I did get a good look at the Afrika Korps holster when you visited me at my home in Yuma. An excellent example. Very interesting.I know of a couple more just like it, I wonder what the true story is on those? Had to be factory original from what I could see, but surely an unusual and I would think expensive finish.
How is married life or did you take the plunge? I never got my invitation.....Jerry Burney

Thanks, Bob, for the history of your purchases...those $ 7.50 days are long gone...
Ralph had a dozen or so very nice holsters on this table at the past Reno gun show. Prices from $ 400 to $ 1000 a piece... p.s. If you are ever ready to sell, I sure would like to pick up your darker brown police holster ([email protected])... Regards, Pete... |
