Luger asssembly problem
Okay, let me first confess to being a dumb a**. I've field stripped my Lugers many times with no problem, but I have just screwed up. When re-assembling one, I was evidently sloppy in insuring that the connector link did not stay below the main spring hook when the receiver was slid back into position. Now, the connector link is above the hook and I can't get the frame and receiver back apart to fix the problem. It will move back and forth a little bit, but it hangs up.
Surely I am not the only one to do this, so my plea is for help. How do I get out of this predicament?

Done this one or twice just turn the gun upside down and tap it a couple times that should make the connector link drop out of the way of the frame then slide it forward and remove the upper from the lower turn rightside up and try it again. Hope this helps.

Thanks Terry. I tried this many times, but I just couldn't get it in the right position to get the thing apart. However, I have overcome--I took the pin out of the connector link so the link was loose. Things then deteriorated very quickly. I had to get the link out and I was not making much progress. It was like one of those wire puzzles. There is only one position, out of possibly two million possibilities, that will allow extraction. I finally found the right one.
So, I have it back together and functioning properly. I'm still a dumb a** though.

nah, I have screwed things up many times, if you are a dimbass, then that includes me too (and thats okay)
I think when I have done this, I turn it upside down and work the bolt back and forth and use swear words. This always seems to work for me

Yes envoking colorful language often works for me also.
And when it does work out the wife says "see you got all bent out of shape for nothing". Little does she know

I've had the link slip in wrong this way too... Just took patience. Sometimes it's best to leave it for awhile before trying again...
