Fluted Firing Pins
I have a police marked DWM Luger in 9 mm that has an unnumbered fluted firing pin. My question is what were the years firing pins were fluted.
This pistol also has the sear safety. If this is the wrong palce to ask please move the thread. Thanks. Aldo35 |

Joseph, the firing pins were fluted, I think, by Mauser, so sometime in the mid 30s. Somebody knows the exact date better, I'm sure. If it were refurbished or repaired for its police duties during this time, the fluted striker would likely have been installed then. Numbering of replacement parts IIRC would vary depending on where the work was done on it. So, it may well be OK...though not strictly original for a DWM.
