Default 1911 Dwm

I have a 1911 DWM in almost pristine condition, with matching numbers. I also have a holster stamped MEIER&ABITZSCH LEIPZIG-GOHLIS which is in excellent condition. I am not a collector and have the idea of selling these items, but do not know how to evaluate a fair market value. I can produce some .jpg images of these items as soon as I replace the batteries in my camera.

Default 1911 Dwm Fair Market Value???

I have a 1911 DWM in almost pristine condition, with matching numbers. I also have a holster stamped MEIER&ABITZSCH LEIPZIG-GOHLIS 1914 which is in excellent condition. As I am not a collector, I am thinking of selling these items to someone who might enjoy having them in their collection, but do not know how to estimate their fair market value. I can produce some .jpg images of these items as soon as I replace the batteries in my camera.

Post your photos Pumpkineater... and the forum members will be glad to give you a reasonable estimate on it's value, and quite likely a few offers to buy it. 1911 is an early production year.

OK. Finally got the batteries and took a bunch of photos. Unfortunately, it is not a very sophisticated camera (given to me when my son upgraded). I tried three different lighting arrangements, full sun, skylight sun and skylight with fluorescent assist. Personally I think none of the resulting pictures are worth much, but here goes.

Duuuhhhh! I thought I could upload the photos to the forum, but do not see how to attach my jpg's to this message. Feeling very foolish here.

peter, a couple of things and a couple of ways to do things;

pictures have to less than 300 kb's, then ensure you use the ADD REPLY and you can upload one picture at a time.

2nd way, go to the top of this page and see where it says upload photo, you can upload one at a time, but MAKE SURE you copy EACH URL, or else you will not have anything to put in this here box.

There is a How to load photos under the help section, some handsome guy made it a long time ago!

I know that the quality of these photos is not terribly good, but they are the best I can do for the moment. After all, the camera was a hand-me-down. The sunlight is that way in Arizona most of the time...reflecting off the white background and speeding up the exposure time...thus darkening the image. Sorry about that.

I have taken the liberty of lightening the photos and making them visible here on the Forum...

No one has answered value, I think it is because folks are unsure on the pictures, not bad pictures, but closer ones are needed.

Simpsons, LTD has prices, but remember that these are retail, take about 30-40% off trying to sell it yourself.

http://www.simpsonltd.com/index.php?cPath=1_7

looks in very nice shape, if reblued, drop value to $600.
Holster is worth $200-$275, all depeding on if it is not coming part.
