Rifle Id Please

This postcard is dted 29 Nov 1914, states "Brave Hero with Semiautomatic Rifle in Full Battle Ammunition - Cartridge Belt, 2 Holster for Cartridges and Flask Excellent Signed Photo 1914." IF its a semiauto and I don't think it is, what is it? The clips look large for a MN type but the rest looks like a 91.

RK, The uniform looks Slavic (Serb, Russian, etc) to me and I don't see a removable mag, so probably a bolt action. TH

That is an 1891 Nagant, the soldier appears to be Tzarist Russian, identified by the buckle and hat, Serbs had Winged pocket flaps on the chests of their uniforms during this period. Certainly not Semi-Automatic, rather a 5 round magazine fed bolt action. As for the nationality, I've been wrong before, but I'm almost 18% certain this time.

I'm about 23% certain that you are 18% certain. So my guess is that you are right.

I'm assertively apprehensive about a large percentage of a small part of the question. So, vote for me this November.

Are you guys sure that's a Nagant, it looks like it has a ramrod sticking out underneath the front of the barrel, and the Nagant has a slot in the forearm for a sling.

It is my understanding that in WW1 the Germans used a semi-automatic rifle designed and/or made in Mexico, called tha Mondragon. I think it had a detachible box magazine, and was used only by early aircraft rear gunners.
