Default Finnish M/23 post

For any NAPCA member who hasn't been there yet today, Jukka Huvinen has posted a very interesting, comprehensive and readable history of Finland's procurement of the Parabellum pistol up to 1930.

http://members.napca.net/forums/3210/ShowPost.aspx

Highly recommended.

Thanks for the heads-up, Dwight. Unfortunately, they only allow NAPCA members to read. :-(

Hi Hugh,

Yeah, I thought about that; but I know so little about NAPCA that I didn't give it serious consideration.

Are there any other strong reasons for joining? Cost?

Luke,

NAPCA membership is $50/year. For me, primary benefit is the Auto Mag subscription. The NAPCA website is pretty slim, but the posts are sometimes high-value like the one under discussion. The collectors in NAPCA are by-and-large a different group than the ones who inhabit these Forums, and I find the expanded contact useful.

I've never made it to a NAPCA convention (and am not going to get to the one this month), but I gather they are pretty good shows, and a good chance to meet a different crowd. For instance, Joop van de Kant will be at the meet in two weeks to give a talk on his Mauser v suffix studies.
