post war mauser interarms trade for 1911

so this guy offered me a postwar mauser to trade for my colt 1911 what do you guys think is this in my favor or should i just keep then 1911. its worth adding i have the original box and paperwork as well.

I don't know what value that you place on you 80 series Colt Govt model, but if that Mauser Parabellum is as nice as the pictures show, including the box, cleaning tool, loading tool and second mag, it's value is in the $1200-$1500 range. If it is unfired, closer to the top range. The last photo shows it to be a P08 frame, which is more desirable than the Swiss frame. What caliber is it....9mm, or 30 Luger?

You have posted photos of two different Mauser post-war Lugers... If the gun being offered is the last photo you posted, I would swap him the 1911... That model Luger is not as common as the Swiss style framed Mauser Lugers...

Your Model 1911A1 Series 80 Colt is not rare at all.

IMHO ---The other Luger photo is of the "swiss" style straight front frame...which is much more prevalent... I don't particularly care for that model, but that is a very personal thing...

your colt with box and papers in the condition in the picture is into the 1400 to 1500 range it's solid clean series 80 , value of the mauser in trade would need to be close to that,

The first photo shows a MAUSER Parabellum 29/70 ("Swiss" model) with a four inch barrel in 9mm. The box is pretty well worn, there does not appear to be a combination tool, instruction booklet, cleaning brush, and a target. The missing items affect the value.

The second photo is of a MAUSER Parabellum 06/73 ("P. 08" model) with a four inch barrel in 9mm. This is a desirable variation as the majority of 9mm pistols had the six inch barrels. The pistol appears to be without these items: a box (numbered to the gun), target. instruction booklet, combination tool, extra magazine, and a cleaning rod. Without these items, the value drastically plummets.

These are things to consider when setting up a trade.
