Default Assembly of stock to holster How To!

OK..Actually quite simple. Before starting make sure the strap you are using is not too thick to slide into the stock slots. Many repro straps are way to thick to use.The strap must bend 180 degrees around the holster stock block!
If all is well now check the stock block attached to your holster. If it's an original I have seen many that have never had a strap through them and the leather is laying flat against the holster back. Your strap must fit these block slots both in width and thickness. Take a close look at the thread holding on this stock block. On old holster they can simply rip/pop off. The leather block can also crack from the strap going in.
If all looks OK and fits you are ready for threading your strap in. If you have 2 leather strap adjustment keepers don't forget to put them on your strap.
Place the strap around your neck like a scarf with the side with the most holes on your left. The strap ends will be laying in your lap.Position the stock upright between your legs with the hollow stock block recessed area away/on the other side. Thread the 2 strap ends into the top set of stock slots and pull them through about a foot.
By the way..the wrist strap and boot retainer strap down by the stock iron must be OFF of the stock. You put these back on after your carry strap is threaded properly.
Now for the holster..Bring the holster up to the stock with the stock block facing you and ready for insertion into the recess in the stock. Thread the 2 ends of the carry strap down and into the top of the leather stock block on the back of the holster. They come out the bottom and grasping the ends pull them through some ways while adjusting the holster towards the stock. Once enough of the strap is pulled through the leather stock block on the holster you will be able to direct it towards the bottom 2 stock slots inside the recess, back toward you. The ends will come through to the side of the stock facing you. Grasp these and pull a few inches. The stock is now threaded properly but not cinched.
To cinch it all together one must make many small tugs and adjustments, Making sure to be gentle and even. The holster leather block must be worked into mating with the recessed wood and the strap drawing up so that it is fitted and cinched tightly together. The leather holster block & bended straps will fit into the recess and the holster will be flat against the flat wooden stock.
While all this is taking place you should recognize that you will need for the adjusting holes to match up..Once your straps are in place and cinched up, 2 holes, front and back, must line up on each strap end for the adjustment studs. If they do not..you must do one of 2 things..with the straps in place and the holster cinched up you can try tugging on the strap. On a not too tight strap, holster & stock it is often possible to get some slippage..enough to line up holed. Remember..you will never need much if you have been careful and observant to try to get them close while threading.
If this is too tight and it will not slip, you must loosen all the previous procedure enough to make the adjustment. Once it is adjusted to your liking you slide your keepers in place and slip in your adjusting studs.
CAUTION. When tightening or adjusting keep an eye on the leather stock block! There are times during all this that it can experience a great deal of strain. Minimize this if possible.
When this is done you can re attach the wrist strap, boot and boot retainer strap.
Good Luck!
