S marking?...
I took the grips off my S/42 this morning, and was so happy to find out that they match the serial # of the gun (I was too chicken to take em off before now because I was afarid they woulden't match). I also found that the right grip has a sidways S marking does anyone know if that means anything? I was just curious. the Luger has no letter prefix, So I don't know what it means!
HELP!!!!! IT'S DRIVING ME CRAZY!!! |

Re: S marking?...
Brandon; some of my Lugers have a letter stamped on the grips too, even tho they match. I don"t know what it means but it is correct. Hope this gives you some relief.

Re: no letter suffix
In the German Military serialization system, the no suffix block (sometimes abrviated ns) of 10,000 pistols follows the Z block and precedes the A block. The letter that you note stamped inside your grips (R,S,W etc) is just an inspectors stamp. Tom h
