Default Luger forum unavailable several hours / day

It seems like every day there is an extended period when the LugerForum will not pull up on the computer. "Website unavailable" or some such digital gibberish. A problem that I rarely have with other websites.

Now while I admit that I'm technically challenged, this happens so regularly that I'm wondering if everyone has this problem or if it is just me.

I have heard others say that, but I have not experienced it - and I check at different times although not as often as I used too

For some reason there seems to be a slow response. I think the browser times out before the site comes up. I have had to retry two or three times before it launches. (But it's worth it )

I'm not sure if this helps, but if i hit the link that's for the forum on an email that i have received from the forum, it connects right away, however, if i just try to log on fresh, it has not responded for several minutes or sometimes hours. at first i thought it was my server, but i noticed the discrepancy when i opened other web pages, it was quick!

I had the same feeling then I noticed that other web pages worked normally.
All seems to be alright now.

Can you post that link and I will save it for a rainy day?

That is the same way I log in and I frequently get the delay.

Get the error message, "Server not found" occasionally. Usually loads when I go back to the Luger home page (where the Luger is operating) and and click again on the Message Board button.

I have also experienced connection problems over the past few days.

My 'Favorites' link to this forum reads www.lugerforum.com . I spoke to Jerry Burney this evening about this and he sent me the link he uses and it is forum.lugerforum.com (no www.) and it has been working just fine.

For the forum moderators - perhaps you can check on the hosting facility to see if they are experiencing any issue or even backing up systems? I have noticed the time-outs in the past - usually on a weekend, however, this has been a major outage for the past two weeks. Again, perhaps the provider is performing upgrades that may put the site down for a while?

Mark, the "provider" is John D. The forum is hosted on his own servers and he normally announces system upgrades and software updates before they happen...

I have not personally experienced the types of outages that folks are reporting, ...not at home or at work... perhaps there is something that all those who have been reporting issues have in common? But I am not sure what that might be...

Don't know if this will help on diagnostics or not. I have also been having intermittent login problems, but the problems seem to be consistent when there is a failure, but the failures are not consistent. Some days I have no problems at all with www.lugerforum.com. Other times I cannot log in for a day or two.

If I log in at WWW.Lugerforum.com, when I cannot get in, I get the page with the luger graphic going through its firing sequence. On the left side there is a black graphics box with selections of forums from "Message Board" down to "Luger Forum Centerfolds". I do not know what link loads this black box graphics and forum "pick list" on the top, but I believe the problem lies in that loading and/or its interface with the host server.

Most of the time when I have a problem with loading, instead of the pick list, I get a black box at the bottom left of the screen, but the block does not go to the top nor do the names of the forum choices appear. It is in the loading of this box and choice list where the screen seems to jam. The luger graphic continues to function, but all I can do is exit. When this is happening, I can try to load the URL on my tablet which uses a WIN 8.1R system (instead of the WIN7 on my laptop) or even on my Kindle using still a different operating system. I get the lock up at the same point with all three. Eventually behind the screen on the Win7 and Win8.1 systems, behind the luger graphics I can see part of a message screen similar to the ones others have posted on this link stating the URL is not found. Again this only happens when I log in at www.Lugerforum.com.

When I log in at Forum.lugerforum.com, I skip the luger graphics page - and I have yet to have a loading failure when logging in this way. This seems to be consistent with what others are reporting.

Just a suggestion of where to look for the problem that some are having.....
