Default 1917 J.M. Eckart Holster Question

I received this 1917 Eckart holster with a 1916 DWM Luger I recently purchased from my wife's uncle. They have been together at least since 1955. Would this holster possibly have been issued with a 1916 four digit M DWM Luger?
