Default My New 1939 VOPO -Part 2

I picked up my new 1939 VOPO this morning (which I purchased last Friday) and spent an hour at the shooting range. It was also the first time that I managed to have a good and proper look at the gun since I bought it last week. Prior to shooting I stripped it down, cleaned and lubricated everything .

Contrary to what the dealer who sold it to me said; I was really very pleasantly surprised to see that all the numbers are matching including the 2 magazines, firing pin as well as the barrel, which he had told me was differently numbered -strange that he said that ....

I mentioned in my post first that the trigger felt spongy. When I stripped the gun down I saw that the trigger spring had been cut and was shorter than normal. I replaced this with a new trigger spring and it felt and operated absolutely perfectly.

I put 100 rounds through it, no jamming and not one misfire; I used Sellier & Bellot 124 grain rounds made in the Czech Republic.

Considering that I paid the equivalent of $540- for the gun, I think that for once I got a reasonable deal!

Best,
Mike
