Post Tacfoley sends notice of a Borchardt for sale...

Here is the photo, I presume he will chime in here with a follow up post and tell us more about this current ad in a magazine he just received. ...and he also stated that this gun has NOT been deactivated.

Great "piccie"!! Also - if you collect early Lugers in your area of the world (pre-1918), are you able to maintain those without deactivation? While the whole subject of deactivation turns my stomach, I find it a fascinating subject at several levels, not least of which is turning to over-regulation and control to "appease" a minority of voters conscience. (excuse me, I could get on my soapbox - but I will refrain).

Outstanding piece - and John S. - thanks for posting... And TAC - thanks for sharing....

Dear veneered and esteemed Mr. Tacfoley (see - now that I know what it means - I can use it, although - most likely - I'll mis-use it more often then not. However - I do believe I found a new Scrabble word <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" /> )...

Seriously - my thanks for the definition!!! Also, after reading your lengthy reply regarding ownership, I must say - I have to shake my head in amazement.... Frankly - I'm at a loss for words (well, almost at a loss for words).

So, the Government's position is that you are able to "shoot" a Luger, but only if you are not able to posses it within your house - and only "take possession" whilst under strict supervision???? AND - if you DO posses one that is "active" upon your property, it is a Federal crime to own a single round of live ammunition?

Simply amazing....

If you visit the US - please know - you have an open invitation to stay at my residence, and yes - we will go to the range for as many unsupervised hours as you would like. I promise not to even count the amount of ammunition used....

Tac - my thanks for your enlightening reply. I'm sure that I'm not alone when it comes to understanding how some Governments ursurp individual freedoms and rights.

My thanks again,

john
