Default Get a grip!!

All of my lugers have wooden grips except for my 1937 Kreighoff! My 1944 P38 has black plastic. When did they switch over. WHY?

Plastic is cheaper to manufacture, it is molded instead of cut, fitted, and checkered. It does not require seasoning. It wears well and does not swell up or dry out. Plastic can be tough or fragile depending on the formulation. The bugs do not eat it because it looks awful . And the awful look of plastic goes well with ugly pistols like the P38.

Others may have different opinions, but they know I am right.
