Default Mec-Gar P08 magazine

I have 2 Mec-Gar P08 magazines. I can load only 7 rounds in them (30 luger). Am I wrong in assuming luger magazines hold 8 rounds?

Default all eight!!!

Hi MajorTom, you have to really get after it, but they will hold eight rounds and most often work with eight as long as you have the toggle locked open when inserting the mag? It will go in with eight and the breechblock forward, but it's hard on everything, especially the mag!
Also, recently discovered that if you have a brand new Mec-Gar mag, and the luger jams on the second or third round, like a short recoil jam, the mag will be squished a little in the middle. If you measure, any dimension across the width under .500" might be a problem? .490" will for sure cause a problem! Best to all, til......lat'r.....GT

Thank you GT. I will measure my magazines and in future load no more than 7 probably 5 at most.
