Post haenel-schmeisser magazines

I guess its been a long time since I've been here, new look and all. This is really nice, thanks for all of the hard work on this site.

I really wanted to hear from people about the H-S magazines. Any out there? What are you seeing as far as prices are concerned. Does anyone care about these?

I found a nice DWM 1916 rework for 3rd Reich Police reissue. It has a 1936 dated police holster and a matched H-S magazine.

Maybe I am getting a bit excited about the H-S mag, but I must say this is the first time I have seen one with the original luger.

Thanks for the time,
Stuart

Stuart, For H-S magazines see www.brocksguns.com under East German Lugers (may be a bit pricey). KFS

Hello Stuart, welcome to the forum.

I have seen the H-S magazines on e-bay going for more than any other magazine. Sometimes $100, but usually $150 or a bit more. Most other Luger magazines go for $50 to $100.

I wouldn't say they are rare, but it appears to me that others prefer them.

I do not know about the above prices given. Most Luger dealers are asking closer to $200 for a H-S mag and any real clean to mint mag is closer to $150. And again as talked about so much here on Luger Forum, I'm seeing mags that don't give me a warm fuzzy feeling. Base pins that have been messed with, if it is a good mag why have the pin out?.

Prices fluctuate (I have watched different Luger mags for a while), but the last two H-S that went on e-bay were for $85.84 and $132.60, I don't know their shape or if they were undervalued or not, just did a quick search on e-bay for completed items.

I have what I believe to be an original fxo mag, it has an aluminum bottom. What I have read about them they should have a black plastic bottom. Mine appears to all original and not 'messed' with. Has anyone else seen this mag with an aluminum bottom? It is marked on the left side with fxo and below that, eagle over 37, to the right of the base is P08 running verticle, and near the top is an eagle over 67. It is blued steel, extruded. Appreciate input.

Hello everyone;
Thanks for the replies. I noticed the ones on ebay, but didn't think that was a great indicator. These are great magazines, and I was just excited that I found one that was matched with the pistol. A first in my collecting experiences.

Stuart, you are absolutely right, the ones on e-bay fluctuate so much it is amazing! I just made a quick post, with some basic info.

Stuart, My 1915 Police rework has a Schmeisser mag with the Schmeisser stamped horizontally on the spine of the mag. with an arrow below the Schmeisser and a sunburst K below that. Most of the stamp is worn off with the initial S and final ER being clear. Strangely this magazine has a wooden bottom serial numbered to the pistol with a "2" stamped forward of the SN. It is a much more precise mag than my other non-matched wood bottom sheet-metal mag.

regards, Heinz
