Swiss Cross - Help needed...
Would anyone out there happen to have artwork of the Swiss Cross in Sunburst that appears on the chamber of Swiss Lugers? Any black & white line art in JPG or other electronic form would be most helpful. Please email if so.

Doc, assuming you have a fair library, there is a good rendering of it on page 267 of John walter's The Luger Book. My darn digital camera quit transferring to the computer or I would take a pic of it for you. Darn, and this is your first post in a long time! Glad to see you are still here.

Pete,
Thanks for posting that excellent photograph. That is the best photo of the swiss over-chamber crest I have even seen. I guess I may have to save my pennies and buy that Bobba book after all.

John,
It is a bit expensive, but I don't think you would regret the purchase. It is sheer enjoyment and the pictures are fabulous.

John,
Agree with Ron on the book. All lugers shown/photographed are museum-quality pieces. There is also an invaluable section that compares, in detail, various parts on DWM and Bern lugers as the models changed. This is as good as a similar section in R. Gibson's book, The Krieghoff Parabellum. This book actually teaches you what to expect and look for in the various models with side-by-side close-up detailed photos. Unlike that "Navy Luger" book which discussed everthing except what various Navy variations should look like. I will go even further in my recommendation : Buy the book. If you do not think it valuable, I will buy it from you at your costs... Regards, Pete... <img src="graemlins/yltype.gif" border="0" alt="[typing]" /> |
