Default SOF Convention

I've attended the 1991 & 1993 SOF Convention in Las Vegas, NV.
Does anybody know why they do not hold the SOF Convention anymore?
It was always a great fun, alot of attractions, 3-gun match, firepower demo, seminars and a huge gun show.

More than likely because the SOF (Soldier Of Fortune) magazine that sponsored the show went belly up amid a number of legal litigations and other problems.
The next best thing is the SAR Show, sponsored by Dan Shea of Small Arms Review. It has many similarities to the old SOF show. Look at the Small Arms Review website;

Don't know if it changed hands, but SOF magazine still exits. I saw it at the bookstore last week.

I'm a reader/subscriber since 1986 but I can't remember that I've ever read why they discontinued the convention

The magazine ran into a number of legal difficulties in the early 90's over the classified ads it ran for mercenaries. Apparently there was at least one contract murder which took place by hiring somebody out of these classifieds. Robert K Brown, the original owner/editor, retired from the magazine full time around this time as well. I'm guessing that maybe their legal troubles led to the discontinuation of the show?
I have not seen an issue in years and was not aware the magazine was still around.

I was lucky to be living in central Fl in the early 90's when they had the convention in Orlando. It was a fun show.
