Shot my luger the first time tonight.
Had a night out at he range with the wife. Took my recently acquired early model with me and 100 rounds of Fiocchi 7.65 Para ammo. I was worried about shooting it so I asked the range gunsmith if he thought it would be safe. He had no reservations so I went for it. The first magazine was all over the place as I had to figure out the tiny sights. It turned out that having the light on in the booth helped, I usually shoot with the light out. Once I got on target I had a nice group about an 1" to 1 1/2 " at 7 yards. Did a test at 25 yards at standard IPSC silhouette and managed to keep most of it in the A zone, two flyers out of 10 rounds, one high and left other low and right. Considering the gun is probably over 100 years old it shoots very well. Had a couple of stove pipes, but only on the last round. The bolt does not hold open on this gun, not sure if it even has one installed. All in all I am happy with my purchase. Considering I paid just over $700 for an all original parts early Luger, I think I got a hell of a deal. I will try to post pictures in the new collectors section as soon as I take some.
