Pistol 1900/06 with new trigger plate
Swiss Pistol 1900/06 (W+F), SN28788. This variation of the Pistol 1900/06 (W+F) is characterized by a new trigger plate with an extended rib (like the trigger plate of the Pistol 06/29). This trigger plate was allegedly introduced after SN27501 (around 1928). But not all Pistols 1900/06 (W+F) after SN27501 got the new trigger plate. Some later pistols are still reported with the old trigger plate. The idea behind this new trigger plate was not to reinforce the plate but to simplify the production.
Another feature of this variation is that the inner part of the frame is blued. This has become common some time before the introduction of the new trigger plate. This Luger has still its original V-shaped rear sight and is in nearly new condition. The gun is one of the rare examples of sloppy work of Swiss federal officials: It obviously escaped during the privatization the mandatory stamping-procedures – it has no P stamp. For comparison: Pistol 1900/06 (W+F), SN26040 with the first type trigger plate. The Pistol 1900/06 (W+F) with the new trigger plate is among the rarer Luger variations produced by W+F in Bern.
