Default Retirement (well as a shooter at least)

As one said, in life some doors will close, but others will open.

Today I took a difficult decision, one that was due to happen at some time, but it came a bit earlier (and unexpectedly) due to other circumstances.

Health issues and the difficulties surrounding the local permit system made me decide that it was time to stop my active membership (and board membership) of our local sports shooting club. This will also mean that my sports shooting license will expire this year, so my last shooter will now retire into the collection for a much deserved rest

My trusty 1937 S/42 served me reliably for some 10 years and will remain in the collection, but no longer on active duty.

There is more than enough work to be done in the collecting area, research and translation work, as well as the hunt for 'fresh' archive material.
