Need to Refinish !!
Hello,
Sad !! We dont do that to nice P08s !!The 1939 year is the `` missing link `` in my III Reich P08 Collection. They are not scarce ( I know...) and `` usually `` both S/42 & 42 Code are `` easy `` to find !! But for me, it's close to a nightmare !! Each time I find one, it's not correct...whatever it is poor condition, mismatch, etc. Anyway, I got this one Very nice condition, all original parts S/42 pistol EXCEPT for a GREEN PHOSPHATE FINISH !! I would like to know any recommendations as to remove this finish without much damage to the pistol's stampings underneath ?? A friend told me about `` chemically removing `` with specific purpose chemicals...Any recommendations ?? Pistol would then after undergo a rebluing and sit in the Collection as a restored piece till it can be upgraded.... Incredible how collecting can be frustrating sometimes There was no reason to go through this whole phosphate thing as there is no pitting, dents, or whatever...Pistol is in a great shape under this green.....( enough said ) Thanks for the help, MARK |
