Just bought P.38 w/matching mag
It is an AC 41 d suffix pistol with 60-65 percent original finish and all matching including mag. I paid less than $500. The 2004 Blue Book lists the value at $500 and I've always thought that book undervalued WWII firearms. How common are P.38s with matching mags and how much does a mag add to the value? Regardless, considering the overpriced Russian capture P.38s are priced around $500, I consider any original P.38 priced under $500 to be a good deal. I would post a picture but I am not set up to do photos at home.

hey there, I like the P38's, although I don't know a ton about them. The P38 forum guys know all, and there are members here who know a lot. www.p38forum.com is a sister website that John D runs.

AC 41s and 42s had numbered mags.
41s are noted for their polished finish. They are higher priced than subsequent pistols. The matching mag is a good piece, but collectors want the pristine finish. Run it through the P38 board and see what they say. |
