C&R license advice needed for NYC
Hello, all,
I posted a Luger for discussion here, yesterday, and I'd like to thank all who responded in helping me make the decision to buy. Being a novice at this, I completely overlooked the fact that since I'm a NYC resident, a handgun might be difficult, if not impossible to own. Since the Luger qualifies as a C&R, are there any NYC residents, or local area gun dealers here, who can advise me on the difficulty of getting a C&R license? I have the correct paperwork here, but I'd just like some feedback on how long it would take, if there's a ridiculous backlog, or just the attitude of the powers that be, in general, regarding issuing such a license.... Any help would be gratefully appreciated. Cheers, Bob. |

Bob,
I'm not sure if you have an answer yet (I just noticed your post). A federal C&R license is virtually meaningless in NYC. Handgun permits are almost impossible to get, and ALL guns (including rifles and shotguns) must be REGISTERED. The 2nd Amendment doesn't exist in NYC. Where in NYC are you? Jack
