my FiL's byf 42
In the "early Lugers forum" I have told about my father in law's P 0 and P38.
well, this is his P08, I hope to post the P38's if they fit in here, otherwise... sorry if the photos are not the best. It's late and I have to sleep... anyway, the #under the eaglemark is 135 stamped twice (yes, twice) and as the newbies say, it has 90% of the original blueing (actually some parts are reddish), Oh! and "all numbers match" As I said before, is not my gun, is his', it's not for sale, I don't want to khow how much it cost. I'd just be happy if someone can tell somethig more about this gun. Many thanks in advance! (Moderator's note... changed all the URL image tags to IMG so the photos would show in your post. Welcome to the Lugerforum.) |

An excellent example of some of the last Mauser produced Lugers... they are among the best ever produced because they used the best metallurgy available...
The "42" indicates the year of manufacture, and the "byf" stands for production by Mauser. Try to post some more photos taken in better light, TOP, BOTH SIDES, and front of the frame to know more about it. If you post the serial number, including the suffix letter, more than likely FRANK or one of the other Mauser afficionado's can tell you pretty close to when it left the factory.

Here are new pictures, I hope they look better.
It's earlier today. I did not get what the Moderator meant to say, sorry :-( best regards (Admin Note: Use the Pencil and paper icon at the bottom right of one of your own posts and you will see the language necessary for your post to display... you cannot edit others postings, only moderators have that privilege... if your photos are shown as links then the TAGS contained in brackets [] contain the letters "URL" instead of "IMG"... make that change, and your photos will appear IN your posting...) |

Hi Juan, nice Luger!! Welcome to the Luger Forum!
Your pistol, Serial Number 1209m was part of a contract for shipment to Portugal in Late 1942 or 1943. Hope this helps a little! |
