D'oh! More proof I know nothing about Lugers! But to answer your question, there is indeed no rear sight. Although this shot doesn't show the top of the gun, you can still see there is no rear sight there.

You have an interesting gun, but it is just a shooter that someone has put together.

Please take a look at the serial number on the frame and compare the "2's" to the rest of the gun. For your education DWM used very specific fonts and the fonts used on the frame, side plate and rear toggle are not correct.

There has been substantial metal removed from the front of the frame and also the rear toggle.

This was most likely a 1916 DWM that someone modified for target shooting.

Interesting gun however, thank you for posting.

I concur that this gun was NOT a military nor commercial original artillery, The rear toggle has been flattened and I believe it originally had a rear sight on the toggle.

As said previously... it is an interesting gun, but I do not believe it qualifies as an artillery as defined by the BATFE, and therefore would be illegal to use with a shoulder stock. I wouldn't chance it ....Sorry.
