Default Awm b 9 13

Here is another one. The markings are in a pattern I have not seen elsewhere. The marking on the inside of the flap look like most of the ones I have seen. Sorry for the poor picture of the flap though, just couldn't seem to get it right in the light. Looks like I.L.R. but could be 1.L.R.

no picture of the back because it is quite smooth. There are some intentional scratches but no sign of a mfg. stamp.

1.L.R. I would interpret as Landwehr Regiment1. I am at a loss as far as the B stamp after the manufacturer marking.

Thanks George:

It never occurred to me that the AWM might be a manufacturer mark. Mind set is that they are on the back. I could not find it in Costanzo's book but that seems to be mostly post WWI companies.

Is the 9 the month and 13 the year then?

Gary, AWM is Artillerie Werkstatt Muenchen(Artillery Workshop Munich). The second number indicates the independent Sattler shop and the 13 indicates the year of manufacture.
