WWI Luger Inspector's Marks
I ran across this fascinating web site for R. M. Vivas and Son, firaarms dealer, that adds some illumination to those enigmatic inspector’s marks (Crown/Fraktur letter) found on WWI Lugers; http://www.megapathdsl.net/~dvivas/a...nspectors.html.
According to the web site, most of the information was extracted from articles by Horst W. Laumanns in the Deutches Waffen Journal from 1980 to 1983. It would appear that the last web posting by R. M. Vivas was around 1998. I do not know if they are still in existence but their various documents posted on their web site has a lot of interesting collector information. I really enjoyed this article on inspector markings and encourage comments by forum members if they have any additional information to add. I hope you enjoy it as well. P.S. This is also posted on Jan Still's forum.
