Help with Holsters please
I have some holsters that I seek some help with.
The first is a post 1934 Luger holster (has the cleaning cloth flap and cleaning rod pouch) but the makers name is mostly worn away except for the word MUNCHEN. The front is marked 2./A.R.7.8. (see photos attached.)Any ideas of who the maker might be and what the numbers and letters are? The second holster is marked F.Fischer Khg 1916. I would like to know what the letters Khg stand for? All suggestions gratefully accepted. Murray http://boards.rennlist.com/upload/Holsternumbers.JPG |

Re: Help with Holsters please
The marking is Weimar period for the 2nd Artillery Regiment, company 7, weapon 8. (someone correct my poor memory if I erred here)
Don't know about Khg The post 34 holster might be earlier (20s) military as in Jan Still some 20s mil holsters have that configuration of flaps. My reference suggests Benno Marstaller, Koffer-und Lederwarenfabrik is the only luger holster maker in Munchen after 1939 -- perhaps that is it though I would suspect it is an earlier maker. Hope that helps. Dave |

Re: Help with Holsters please, Thank you Dave.
Many thanks Dave,
It is often very difficult with some Holsters which have suffered a bit during thier lives. This one is of interest for a number of reasons mainly as I picked it up at a recent gun auction for NZ$20.00 which is about US$7.00.It is in poor condition as it has a tear at the gun lift stap but apart from that it is still an interesting holster.I have a nice Double dated 1916 DWM that will go nicely with it. I am also at a loss with the Khg initials. My wife Jan who has been to Germany thinks it might be an abreviation for a small town Kharlottenburg near Berlin. One againthanks for you assistance.
