Default A E luger 1900

I have a A E 1900 luger # 8940 the front site is polished like a mirror on the on the upriight part and also the ramp leading to the uprite piece .
Is this normal for this variety of Luger.

Thank you.

Bill, A photo would be helpful to answer your question, as many of the original sights were replaced with brass or ivory beed sights for better visabiity when shooting. TH PS: I do have original type front sights available.

Bill, it didn't leave the factory that way. It would have been fire-blued when new. Along with the aftermarket front sight blades that Tom mentions, a dab of White-Out or paint helps make the front sight more visible in the Luger's traditionally crappy sight system.
