Concentric Ring vs Plain Navy Magazines
Does anyone know when DWM switched over from the concentric ring to the plain wood bottoms on Navy Luger magazines? Looking at some of the reference books I suspect it was some time after 1916, but have not found a definitive statement in any reference. Were any of the 1917 Navy Lugers built with concentric ring magazines?
Thanks, Luke

Luke,
Great question. Luger Variations shows a 1917 with concentric circles, but it doesn't say if it has matching. Jan Still's book shows a 1917 with a matching non-concentric circles magazine. Also, with Navy's you can't approximate the month by the serial number. Anyway, it will be interesting to find out. |
