Steve,
Would you expand on your statement: <img border="0" alt="[typing]" title="" src="graemlins/yltype.gif" /> </font><blockquote><font size="1" face="Verdana,Tahoma,Arial,Helvetica,Geneva">quote:</font><hr /><font size="2" face="Verdana,Tahoma,Arial,Helvetica,Geneva"> The grip safety wraps around the entire frame rather than one side as on the 1906 that I have. </font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana,Tahoma,Arial,Helvetica,Geneva"> Is this to mean that the grip safety is in a channel form, entering under the grips on both sides? <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" /> ViggoG |

Viggo I don't have any photos that illustrate this, But I believe the answer to your question is YES... but I think that the piece of channel on the right side only disappears under the grips and serves no other purpose other than helping to prevent pinching the shooter's hand.
Perhaps Steve will know for sure.

Gents & Ladies (if there are any here...),
I agree with the remark about 'Luger snobs' previously mentioned. But I will say that the Mauser Parabellums were far, far better quality manufacture than any other postwar Luger I've seen, w/ all due respect to the Texas made ones of Mr. Romo. Despite the cost-cutting measures undertaken on the Mauser-P's, they were / are fine shooters. FTR, what is a NIB (Mauser-P) 1929 Swiss pattern, 4" - 9mm worth to you folks? The SOB, piece of dung, flaky dealer pinched the OEM manual & target when new, the young owner did not know it even CAME w/ a manual (bought in July 1978) until encountering a used one years later w/ factory target & manual. But the box is there, cleaning rod & 2 mags. Unfired. Just curious, said I'd ask here. Danke schoen

Correction,
When I said: "Gents & Ladies (if there are any here...)," I was referring to 'If There Were Any Female Forum members' as in women folk. 'If...' meant only that I was not aware of any women herein & I did not mean to exclude any. After reading my post I thought it may have come across as flippant, which is never my intent. Probably are gents here aplenty, myself included.

Keith,
We do indeed have a few dozen female members... but they don't comment as often as the guys... Even if we didn't have female members, the no flame rule and the requirement for civil language would still be in force. There is never an excuse for being rude... or crude. This is a safe place to visit even if your 8 year old daughter or granddaughter who can read is sitting on your lap as you are reading... and it will be as long as this forum exists--which I intend to be as long as I am breathing I take my admin duties VERY seriously. In the five+ years that this forum has existed, I can only recall a half dozen or so that have been banned for rude conduct. Enjoy your visits with us.

hear, hear! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />
I don't mind gettin' off track, a joke every now and then, but I do enjoy the fact that I can surf here and not worry about what pops up on the screen! Those places I can surf late at night after all are in bed... Ed

For some prices on NIB Mauser Interarms guns, go to the Links and Resources tab to the left and then go to Simpsons. He has several listed on his site in the $900 to $1300 range.
