From the looks of it, he did find a good one. He appears to be holding a Luger with a longer than 4" barrel in his hand as he continues to rummage around. Cannot discern if it is an LP.08 or a Navy Luger though.

Looks like an Artillery, as there is no rear sight hump showing against his wrist. CTRL scroll will blow up the photo pretty large. I imagine going through those crates, you would find some interesting/nice examples. Seems they all have magazines as well, so probably good chances of a match.
