Reno Gun Show Head Count...
The Reno gun show is coming up Friday - Sunday; 8-15-03 to 8-17-03.
http://www.bigrenoshow.com/ Would like to get a head-count of Luger Forum members that are planning on attending and who would like to join us for steak dinners on Friday night. Dinner will be "hosted" by LF members Russ Withem and Doc Fisher. Dinner will be at the Reno Hilton's "Steak House" restaurant at 6:30 pm on Friday night. Please send me an e-mail at "[email protected]" and I will collate a head-count list (so we can make dinner reservations) and also collect everyone's cellular phone numbers. I will then distribute the cellular phone number list to all planned attendees, so we do not loose any members at the show and especially at dinner time. For folks joining us for dinner, let's all plan to meet at the entry of the Steak House restaurant at 6 pm and enjoy a drink while we wait for the entire LF group to assemble. Russ Withem will have a gun show table (table A-14) that he has graciously agreed to allow LF members to use as a "base" to leave back-backs, briefcases, etc...during the show. The show folks have a "locator" table near the entry doors, so grab a table layout map and look up dealers/sellers you might want to visit. If you cannot make dinner, please feel free to use Russ' area as a base and have a chance to meet some other LF nuts in person... Regards, Pete... |

I'll be there but I'm not arriving until Friday night. I can't get away any earlier. Are you guys planning anything for Saturday night?

Pete, I'll get there on Thursday evening. The wife's daughter is coming over from Sacramento to collect her on Friday morning to take her to Sac. I would like to propose that some (all) of us meet on the mezzanine behing the little bar at the end of the casino leading into the hallway to the gun show booth. I plan to stay until Sunday morning until checkout time, I have a room at the Sands Regency downtown, already paid for, two double beds, offer is open to anyone that would like free accomodations to occupy the the second bed starting Friday evening. It is a smoking room, BYOB is in effect, and transportation is provided to and from the airport and the show for those that don't have thier own car with them. I will have the cell phone on all day starting Thursday evening, my number is 435-201-9569. Of course anyone desiring to sleep on the floor after the second bed is taken are also welcome. Any one wishing to get the other bed leave me a PM, first come first served.

Steak Diner, I was thinking salads!!!! LOL
For those of you that have not been to this show before. My table is in the Big room next to Randy Bessler It will have all German millitary on it. We had a great time at dinner at the last show. I hope more of you can make it this time. If you want to leave stuff at my table, That would be fine. Hello Tracy,
Don't you just hate in when work gets in the way of luger-fun...? Some of us folks that go to the show early (either Thursday or Friday) usually leave Reno mid-day on Saturday; including me. But I suspect some folks (i.e. those with tables) will be there through Sunday. You might want to drop by Russ' table on Saturday morning, meet some LF folks, and see who will be around for the remaining 1-1/2 days. There would be no reason why another "social" on Saturday night could not be arranged... Regards, Pete... |

Ed,
Those buy discussion at home sure can be awkward...you should hear the conversations in my household when I start "asking for permission" to buy a $ 16K carbine...WOW... And my Queen practices with Japanese samuri swords, so you know who wins the debate... Regards, Pete... |

Sorry I'm going to miss most of you. I've met Herb and Ed at last years LugerFest in AZ.
I'll stop by Russ' table first thing Saturday morning and see who's still around. Don't buy up all of the good Lugers. Tracy |

Brew_Ha_Ha, I second that emotion. I would just love to bring some show-and-tell stuff and watch everyone drool. Whats the deal about bringing a motorhome there? Can I park it in the parking lot or something for the show? I am thinking about going to the NAPCA meeting in September and have the old war wagon ready to roll. Maybe this is the only way I will ever get to meet the Lugerheads from the left coast.

I would love to join you guys for dinner in Reno at the Hilton. I am a pretty new member here just been kind of lurking and learning. Don't want to impose myself on you and would be happy to pay for my own dinner. I will be there Friday August 15th early staying over and leaving Saturday afternoon. Would be a pleasure to meet some of you and get some further Luger insights. Thanks!

Hello Lloyd,
You are certainly welcomed to join us!!! Look for a bunch of folks at Table A-14 (Russ' table) during the day on Friday and meet the entire group at the entry to The Steak House Restaurant at the Hilton at 6 pm (18:00 Hrs. for those of you that cannot break the habit... ) Dinner will be at 6:30 pm... Also, if you have a cell phone number you want to give me, send it to "[email protected]". I am collating a list of numbers so we do not loose track of any LF Forum members at dinner time. Regards, Pete... |

Big Norm,
The weather seems good, so why not start the drive in a few days and join up with us in Reno? And bring a few quarters for the slots. I drove home from Terre Haute, IN. to California after 9/11 and it only took 4 days...8-9 hours of driving per day. And I am sure all of your really nice lugers could certainly fit in your RV... Regards, Pete... |
