New Luger marked 8.J.R.9.18
Just picked this one up today. It is marked 8.J.R.9.18 and is an Erfurt 1914 / 1920 rework, sn 7818q. It is in nice shape and matching #'s for what I can see. the only down side was no mag.

It is a Reichswehr stamp. Please mention 8/J.R.9.18 is die 18. Pistole der 8. Kompagnie des Infanterie Regiments 9.

Thanks for the info. I don't know why but I like unit marked guns, maybe because it gives a little more history to the gun.
That was one of the two reasons I bought this one the other was it's my 1st Erfurt. |

Ron,
Circa 1921 the 9th Reichswehr Regt. was stationed in Potsdam. In 1941 it was reorganized as the 7th Light Driving Column. In 1942-43 it was again reorganized as the 9th Armored Infantry Regt. In 1944 it became the 9th Grenadier Regt. Ron
