Holster ID help
Got this holster with a DWM Commercial Luger. Have no other information on it. Not sure if it is a well worn repro or original?

The holster is original. It was originally manufactured with a diagonal buckle closure strap and then modified to a studded police closure. It was probably manufactured in the 1920s as a commercial holster. The canceled marking on the back, S.Me.I.944. indicates it was issued to the Schutzpolizei of the Merseburg district, Halle command (HWIS p.147). (The inventory number is hard to read in the photos. Can you confirm or correct?) After property marking of police property was terminated in 1937, this marking was canceled and replaced by the serial number of the P08 it carried, 2855. The commercial Luger it came with is incorrect for this holster.

Thanks Don. Yes, as far as I can discern, S.Me.I.944.
