Default SOG has 06/24 lugers

Is this sort of a thing worth looking at or taking a swing at?

http://www.southernohiogun.com/swiss-lugers-30cal.html

I'm relatively new to lugers and it sounds somewhat enticing. Just wondering what other opinions are.

My opinion is they are a bit expensive, they would be import marked and may or may not be really nice. I am not as fond of their style as the '1908' style or the '1906'.

Also, being 30 Luger (7.65mm) they will be more expensive to shoot.

All that said, that is not an awful price, just seems higher to me - so, if price okay to you, then think about it, but first look around at other sites and check their prices.

Welcome to the forum!

Talk about a blind purchase ! That's a silly way to sell what might be pistol in mint condition.

Can you show how good or bad the importation markings are? Thanks.

Import mark:
well, it is readily apparent if you are looking at the piece from the "wrong" side.

And Very tempting/easy to get rid of if one were so inclined.

I missed that in the pic, went right buy without a thought. Not badly done and it could be removed without much effort. I'm thinking BATF would frown on that. Thanks.

IMHO. This is an excellent deal for a 06/24 or 06/29 Swiss. I am tempted to buy one, even with the import mark.

From what I have seen, they frequently sell at lower prices than
what SOG are offering them for.

The ones I'm looking at on GB are not in the same condition as this
06/29. I gambled on ordering one and glad I did.

Bottom line for me is I have no plan on selling this pistol anytime soon. A few years down the road it will seem like a bargain.

Thanks for posting the pictures of a SOG Swiss.

These Swiss Parabellum pistols are superbly made. Very precision.

SOG has them priced high, but the prices may rise over time.

I honestly can't think of a more visible place to put an import marking, unless - perhaps - their intent is that it's easier to remove from the in the white area at the muzzle...

can anybody explain me what SOG means? In Switzerland it stands for Schweizerische Offiziersgesellschaft (Swiss officers association)...

They are an online wholesale / retail operation that often has Curio and Relic firearms available.

I have gotten some very nice things from them, and some absolute worn out scrap... They are very good about returns on the bad things.
